Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin - What a breath of fresh air for the Republicans! This must be driving the Liberals crazy, if for no other reason than to paint the Republicans as something other than old white guys that are stuck in the 50's. It seems that it is the Liberals that are having a problem with a mom and wife stepping up to a major political position with some responsibility. Do they think that a woman can't handle it? Maybe being a mother of five, plus a career is too much, in their minds! What a reversal! I think we are finally calling their bluff.........they don't believe in women's rights or minority rights, it's all about socialism and communism! Its about your politics, not who you are or what kind of struggles you have been through. The really sad thing is.......most Liberals won't think twice about sliming everyone connected to Sarah Palin. If a Republican gives away an actual political opinion or vote by Obama, that's considered negative politics, but when a Liberal gives away personal information about a candidate and her family that could lead to the ruin of many peoples lives, that's just politics as usual. Democrat operatives, including most of the major media are despicable!!!

Obama: U.S. is greatest / U.S. is worst

I watched the beginning of Obama's acceptance speech and was getting nervous for the Republicans. It started out very patriotic and down-home American......almost Republican. Obama told us how this country was so great with all of the opportunities, especially how he was able to rise to the level of Presidential candidate - "only in America" could this happen. Then, turning-on-a-dime, he switched to how horrible things are, especially under the Bush administration. All of a sudden, this was no longer a country of envy to the rest of the world. Only Barack Obama could restore opportunity and a decent life to ordinary people in this country.

I see it in a very different way. I don't see the Bush administration as a failure, and I am very proud of this country, even despite the Democrats. In fact, Barack Obama owes it to the policies and conditions set up during the Bush administration for his rise to the top. Think about it, Bush had more black cabinet members than any previous President. People like Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell set examples for the rest of us, and gave those with doubts about race, a reassurance that race doesn't matter!

Democrats like Barack Obama believe that only they are smart enough to make it, but the rest of us need a government program. The same system that allowed Obama to succeed, works for anyone that wants it........but only if you take the government program away!

Michelle Obama

Michelle my belle!! I didn't see (hear) Michelle Obama's whole speech at the Democrat convention, but what I did see was good. "See" is the operative word, because she is very pleasant to look at! Whether she meant what she said or not, it all came together very well for her. Then the cute kids talking to Dad really put a nice finish to the first night at the convention. As much as I hate to admit, the Democrats will probably get a lift from that. It really does make me wish that the Obama's believed in the same things that I do, but they don't. I heard someone put it correctly today on the radio, when they said that our two main choices are Obama (a Socialist) and McCain ( the real Democrat). I'm sorry to say that the Socialists will probably win the day, because they can get a lot more tears to flow than the Republicans.

Global Warming

Now that things (on earth) are starting to cool off, and some are even talking about a mini-ice age coming, I'm wondering if we can save the planet with human caused CO2. The other day I was really cold, so I tried to heat my house with my CO2 carbon footprint........it didn't work. I tried to find a CO2 powered home furnace........no luck. I'm thinking that if the sun starts to die out and the planet goes into a real ice age, we can just pump up the CO2 output and everything will be OK. If it's not, we can sue Al Gore.........or at least embarass him!

HOW DID WE ALL BECOME SO GULLIBLE? Some very important and influential people have bought right into some of the most ridiculous concepts, like human caused global warming. The planet warms naturally, then cools naturally. We shouldn't get all excited when the temperature outside fluctuates more than it does in some Liberal snob's $10,000 / month air conditioned suite!

Barack Obama's Military

While the Russians and the Chinese continue to drill every corner of the earth for oil and have no problems with nuclear power, we in the U.S.A. are backing away from the future with ideas right out of Al Gore's vision for the future..........which is - if you want to save the planet, go green (code word for going back to the caveman days). Barack Osama........excuse me - Obama.....is in lock step with that thinking. No drilling, no nuclear, no clean coal.......no real fuel of any kind. Here is how I envision the military of the future if Obama and the Liberals have their way......
Shortly after the Obama (global warming) earth saving policies have been implemented, the U.S.Airforce will be showcasing their new solar and wind powered jet fighters. The U.S. Navy and Coast Guard will be unveiling their new sail powered ships with emergency oar power....and finally the U.S. Army and Marines will debute their fast response roller blade / bicycle corps. This new earth saving military may be tested in 10 - 20 years from now, when Iran, or some other rogue nation threatens the rest of the world. China, Russia, and the rest of the world (with their jet fueled aircraft, nuclear navy, and conventional powered army and navy) will be able to get on-scene in about 1 or 2 hours from the beginning of the threat. It will take the new U.S. military about 8-12 months after that to respond......just think Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria for reference.

How Do You Argue With A Liar ?

......Or to put it another way - How do you argue with a Democrat politician or activist? If you are anything like me, you get very frustrated when you try to use logic, common sense and truth when you argue a point with a Democrat. I'm sure that they would turn this around and say that the opposite is true. Even when I watch high profile Republicans argue (debate) with high profile Democrats, it's the same thing. The Republican is usually well versed in the facts, and the Democrat usually makes up the "facts" as they go....or they stick to well rehearsed talking points that have nothing to do with the argument being presented. This is a little like a boxer trying to hit an opponents shadow. There is never anything substantive to hit. A good example of this, is how (recently) some of the high profile Democrat politiicans that are on record as being against domestic oil drilling, now argue that they have always been for drilling. You could give them tape recordings or video recordings (of them) stating their previous position on this, and they still would not concede the point. I guess you have to give them credit for paying so much attention to debating class in college.

Cancer

While the media has been obsessing about the Iraq war and global warming, my family and friends, young and old, have been dying from all different types of cancer. What is going on? Is it just me, or is there an epidemic? It sure seems like there have been an unusual number of cancer deaths in my immediate circle of family and friends. Why haven't there been headlines about the recent rise in cancer? If I am any indication, and my circle of family and friends is typical of what is going on in this country, then we need to start thinking about this. While the Democrats are falling all over themselves to get government subsidies for alternatives to conventional car engines to save the planet, people are dying off. If this becomes a planet with no people, is it really a planet worth saving? My point is, if you, or a friend, or a relative have just been diagnosed with cancer, it won't take long for all of your priorities to change.

Wall Street Jitters

What's up with all of the Wall Street professional investors? They move around their investments like those schools of little fish that seem to move on a dime, all at the same time. I'm a small amateur investor. I recently got lucky with my timing on an oil driller. This company is a solid stock investment, but it has recently taken some wild swings along with the price of oil. What I don't get is ...if everyone is now talking about more domestic drilling, and this is a solid domestic drilling company that is undervalued, how can these professional investors miss the obvious? Oil prices are dropping primarily because of renewed talk of drilling - That should be good for oil drillers....So why do they sweep everything related to energy, including oil drilling companies out the door when oil prices drop? I suspect that there are only a few professional investors that lead..........the other 98% or so follow frantically. I'm confident that they will eventually come around to do the right thing, so I plan to hold steady with my investment. Our oil problems will not go away anytime soon and drilling will continue to increase, even if limited by the Democrats in this country.

Pro Choice

My daughter is pregnant and she, her husband, and my wife were talking about pro choice abortion vs. "anti" abortion pro life. We are all against abortion, but some of us were open minded about pro choice for other women, except during late term pregnancies. I have come to the conclusion that my opinion comes down to Libertarian vs. Democrat / Republican. My reason for being pro choice is very different  than a Democrat or a Republican. Democrats generally have no problem with the government telling us what to do with our lives and Republicans sometimes want to play God in other peoples lives. Who should make the choice of life or death for the unborn child, the mother or the government? Although I don't believe that death for the child is a good option either way, I believe that I am being consistent in not allowing the government to make that decision. The mother should always make the decision, otherwise who else would? ....The next door neighbor shouldn't, and the governement shouldn't. If we are going to allow the government to interfere with a mothers decision in this regard, than we cannot complain about the government interfering in all of the other areas of our life. Bottom line is....the Democrats have NO faith in people to make decisions in their own lives. The ironic thing is that the Democrats don't actually believe in democracy any more, while the Republicans still believe in the people to do the right thing....most of the time.
