Christmas Songs

Have you noticed that most of the good Christmas songs are from celebrities of 20 - 30 years ago? If you want mood for Christmas you tune in to songs-of-the-season, usually from a long time ago. It's really sad that no celebrities sing about Christmas these days. You can say what you want about the religious aspect of Christmas, but there is also the tradition of Christmas in this country that is quickly disappearing. Doesn't anyone with the good fortune of celebrity prosperity have the "guts" to keep the tradition going?

Man-Made "Pollution" Is Natural

Have you ever wondered why there is not sh** all over the forest? You would think that you couldn't take one step into the forest without stepping into a fresh one, considering the animals don't have toilets, out-houses, or even litter boxes. Isn't it amazing how nature cleans itself up? Most God fearing people believe that there is an awesome balance in nature that keeps our planet intact. For every perceived negative there always seems to be a balanced positive. Since we as humans are part of nature, why is it so hard for liberals to believe that nature has a plan to balance our existence with the planet?

I applaud the efforts of environmentalists in the past to keep the planet clean. I believe this is part of the natural cycle. I don't appreciate when they try to take it too far. I don't believe this is part of the natural cycle and could end up tipping the natural balance. Humans shouldn't play God!

It won't be CO2 that kills the planet. It will be the good intentions of liberals that kill the planet!

I have a plan too !

What if I told you I had a government plan that would eventually result in no children living in poverty? The title is "The Compassion For Children Act of 2009". If you're an Obama follower, you would probably cheer this plan without ever considering the details of the plan. In fact, anyone who would dare to go against this plan must be mean and uncaring... probably a right wing monster!

Here's the plan - The government would set up a system that would allow couples to have children only after extensive government interviews and financial statement reviews. The couples must meet guidelines that would be set up by government bureaucrats for each child. These guidelines must be met every year for the life of each child, otherwise the couple may be required to give the child up for adoption to another couple that meets the requirements and/or the couple may have to pay stiff penalties until the requirements are met. If they refuse to comply, they will be imprisoned.

Shortly after implementation of this plan, only families that meet the strict government guidelines, and have the financial means necessary to raise children will have them. Ultimately no poor people would be allowed to have children under this plan, thus no children would be living in poverty.

... This is an extreme position to make a point. The title of a plan may look good and opponents can be made to look bad by opposing it, but it's what is in a plan that counts for a lot more than titles imply. Are politicians in Washington listening??? I guess we will soon find out. READ THE HEALTH PLAN BEFORE YOU VOTE ON IT!!!

My Fair Share

Let me make sure I understand how this Obama health care thing affects me... I'm an owner of a small union contracting business. I already pay the union for my employee's health coverage, and - in addition, I pay for my own plan (not as good) separately. Now with Obama's plan I will not only pay for my employees, but I will also be taxed to pay for other's health care. After paying all of this extra money, my employees and I get the privilege of waiting in longer lines for our medical problems, as we will have to compete with the 46 million people that will be thrust into the same system. On top of the additional health care burden that I will have, I will be asked to contribute more to the California Calpers retirement and the teachers union retirement as they are going broke. In addition to my contributions to the union retirement for my employees and contributions to my own retirement (meager by most standards), I will be taxed more to support these failed retirement plans. I'm beginning to feel like a small donkey pulling a large group of spoiled kids through a theme park!!!  ... But who cares? I'm just a "rich" white guy!!! FYI - I was born in a poor Irish family... now I'm a rich white guy!!!

Hunger in America

By my estimation there are at least 300 million hungry Americans and they are hungry at least 3 times a day. Everyone in America... before breakfast, before lunch, and before dinner. Some are more hungry than others. Usually it's the obese that are more hungry than the rest of us. Why would this be a surprise to anyone???

When politicians talk about hungry Americans, I laugh. I'm hungry all the time, but especially if there is a good restaurant nearby... Please don't feel sorry for me... Of course no one would feel sorry for me anyway... a hard working ordinary white American. I am a (relatively) successful white male American that is hungry at least 5 times a day. I don't expect anyone to care. I just keep giving and giving and giving. Oh well! Pity is for Democrats. I just keep adapting to the new obstacles as they are put in front of me.

Where a feather falls

I have a challenge for all of Al Gore's global warming computer modeling geeks...  "Big Environment". There are so many variables in the climate and for that matter anything that happens in nature, that I believe that it's impossible for a computer to predict an outcome that is even close to reality. Here's my challenge - Pick a point in any city, in any state, at a specified day, time-of-day, month, and year. Have the computer predict where a feather would land if it were dropped from an elevation of only 10 feet. If one of Al Gore's global warming computers gets even within 2 feet of where the feather actually lands, I might start to pay attention (I still think he looks like one of the evil villains in a James Bond movie!).

If we could prove to the Left just how difficult it is to predict or duplicate nature, then maybe we could also include a lesson in how all of the forces of nature also apply in free market capitalism to get the very best results possible... as opposed to a manufactured end result by government mandate!!!

Keep your eyes open !!!

With all of the CHANGES that are coming at blinding speed, we all need to be on our toes in order to survive. Personally, I believe that the government spending will lead to a short term stimulus. Beware though... as inflation creeps in, and we (the U.S.) run out of money, be ready to jump ship. My personal plan is to invest heavily in the stock market in the next 2 years. How can there not be an increase in economic activity with over 3 trillion dollars dropped in our lap? The problem comes later, when the debt comes due, or we run out of money and realize that it was all fiction with no substance. That's when I plan to close up shop, sell all of my stocks, and try not to attract too much attention as I leave town with the shirt on my back!!!  I have to make sure it's before the Obama shirt-on-your-back tax is enacted !!!

Throw the hero out of town !!

The unwinding of our national security under President Obama reminds me of a movie I watched about a gunslinger in the old west that was recruited by a town to get rid of the bad guys. The gunslinger was a hero... until all of the bad guys were gone. I'm pretty sure it was a Clint Eastwood movie !!!

George Bush, with all of his faults, is the real movie hero that chased all the bad guys out of town and I'm SICK about the treatment he gets from the major media and this new administration!!

Now we're so afraid to act in the same way as the hero, that we go out of our way to cozy up to the villains. Well... just like in that movie, as soon as the bad guys realize that the hero is gone, they will be back with a vengeance !

Why is free enterprise better ?

Why is it so difficult to get the concept of free enterprise? It's real easy if you free your mind of liberalism. We have about 280 million citizens in this country. That's quite a large pool of talent. They are your moms, dads, brothers, sisters, etc.. A free market allows the best and brightest to rise to the top. In the past, if you really tried hard, you may have been able to reach the pinnacle of your profession... and get rewarded with pay (profits to some people).

When the government intervenes and places obstacles in your way, then replaces you (with their political supporters), what are the chances that their choices will be as talented or committed as you? You may have spent your whole life studying and preparing for the career of your dreams, only to get replaced by someone that may have passed the civil service exam with the highest score, but really wanted to be in a different career path.

In a government controlled economy, politicians will decide every aspect of our lives... Keep in mind that politicians don't know ANYTHING except how to work the system, sell, and get elected. If that's not scary to you, than you deserve what you get!!

Stimulus is a sugar fix

Get ready kids. We are about to have a real sugar rush with Obama's rescue plan (His "plans" usually take about 2 seconds to develop). If you're a serious stock investor, you will capitalize on the upside, but realize that it will be a short term fix and sell before it's too late! The only problem with getting out in time, with actual profits, is that the Obama administration may deem your profits to be too high, then confiscate them before the next stock market crash that is sure to follow... just like the crash that follows all sugar rushes !! Are you listening Mr. Buffett? Your investing strategy depends on reliable free enterprise. The Obama strategy is all new to this country. "Change" means no more U.S.A.... no more free enterprise! Mr. Buffett...  I hope you're happy with the President (that you helped to put in office) when it's all over!! Some of us that admired you, and wanted to follow in your footsteps, will never have the same opportunity as you.  Thanks buddy!!!

$pending Re$cue Plan

The other day I caught the tail end of a press conference with Obama's press secretary making an analogy about a house fire as it relates to our economy. He sounded "so smart" proclaiming that when your house is on fire you don't have the luxury of deciding which rooms to save... you have to drench the whole house to stop the fire. I guess this was to justify the overspending to save our economy. Well I have an opposing analogy for the press secretary. If the house is burning down you don't have the firefighters remodel the bathroom or kitchen at the same time. It's REALLY not a good time to raise the rent for the (now) homeless tenants !

Perception vs. reality

I'm waking up to the radio earlier this week and there is a 6th grader talking about going to the Obama Presidential inauguration. The radio host asks the 6th grader what advice he would give to Obama. The 6th grader says he would just wish Obama good luck fixing the bad economy and getting us out of Iraq. The radio host then asks how this young person became aware and interested in these things. The 6th grader said that he had been hearing all of these words on the radio and television and wanted to know more. His research consisted mostly of talking to his dad and listening to radio (his uncle works for the radio station that is interviewing him). He had come to the conclusion that the economy was bad and we had to get out of Iraq...........Here's the part that gets me..........Why do you need a radio show to tell you that the economy is bad and we need to get out of Iraq? This 6th grader apparently doesn't know anyone that has been to Iraq, much less that has been directly affected by anything in Iraq. He also must not be feeling any effects from the so-called bad economy, because he didn't know about it until he was told about it. Unfortunately, many adults make up their minds about what they perceive as important in the same way as this 6th grader. The media specializes in shaping our opinions and creating "important issues of the day". The weakest of us are the most susceptible to this media propaganda, and I'm sorry to say, that just happens to be most democrats.

Obama will stop America in crisis

You watch how quickly the economy, global warming, and the Iraq war get off the front pages if Obama is elected President. Somehow, miraculously everything will be better. Some of us, the ones that have been paying attention, will notice that things were not all that bad all along. As it will turn out, the perception of bad things is what created the whole economic crisis, among other things.

An Obama administration will have to deal with all of the usual problems, but of course everything will still be OK in the end. The first problem will be voter fraud. Instead of voter fraud being Obama's problem, it will be the nasty Republicans just not being willing to let go.
The next problem will be an escalation of the violence in Iraq, that will result from the early withdrawal of our forces. This will create the need for us to go back in with death tolls far exceeding anything we have seen so far....but of course that will all be Bush's fault! Next we will see a natural disaster, such as a severe snow storm that will require FEMA and the National Guard to respond. Of course this will be the usual bureaucratic nightmare, but will be attributed to the leftovers from the Bush administration.

In other words, this will be deja-vu all over again, but with a whole different perception, thanks to the same media that destroyed Bush, the Republicans (...and eventually this country). Obama will be a hero for handling crises worse than Bush could ever think!

Democrats are like animals in a zoo !

Most Democrats, rich or poor have one thing in common......they don't have to worry about money. The Democrats that are poor have security from government programs. The Democrats that are rich have security from mom or dad's trust fund. The Democrats in-between are probably being supported by someone else, husband or wife. What makes these people like animals in a zoo is the protection and security that they have. If you're an animal in a zoo, the cage that keeps you in, also keeps predators out. If you're an animal in a zoo you have equality, guaranteed health care, shelter, food and nurturing.....some would call this paradise! Unfortunately what you wouldn't have is freedom! That's what separates Democrats from Republicans. Republicans are willing to take a chance on self sufficiency in order to keep their freedom. Democrats are willing to give their freedom away in order to keep their lives safe from any kind of challenge! One thing that Democrats should keep in mind is that when you give up your freedom, you will eventually give up any kind of control over your life! You Democrats should think long and hard about that before it's too late!!

Electric cars

Why do the democrats talk about electric cars as if they use no fuel and have no impact on the environment? The electricity for these cars must be generated somewhere. It is usually generated in someone else's "backyard" so the pollution from the power plant isn't noticed by most of us.......only the poor suckers that live where the power plant is located. Since the democrats are against nuclear power, most of this power is generated the old fashioned way (engine-generators or turbines that are powered by conventional fuels). This is a very inefficient way to power a car, as only about 90% of the power consumed by the generator is available for use as electricity.....Physics 101. As if that isn't bad enough, disposal of old batteries is a huge problem (by the way, this is more of a problem because of democrat environmentalists), and safety is also a huge problem......large capacity batteries consist of toxic or harmful chemicals that can do a lot of damage in an accident. As usual, democrats and the media go forward with emotion and good intentions, without thinking it all out!
